Back to "Normal"

Well, after two days of BLISS and SUNSHINE the fog has rolled back in and the expected high for today is 66. *Sigh*

To brighten the day, I thought I would post about our exciting news.


I'm 10 weeks pregnant with peanut #3. We anticipate him or her to arrive in the middle of March.

Several weeks ago - even before I knew I was pregnant - Sarah kept talking about a baby sister. Hmmm. Maybe she has some connection? But if how sick I am is tied to having girls I would definitely have to agree. I was pretty sick with Sarah but only tired with William.

I'm feeling more like myself and am getting back to normal. We feel super blessed!

Meeting Kohen

My baby sister Alli had a baby boy on Mother's day. He was a little more than 3 weeks early. And although he weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. at birth, his lungs weren't completely developed so he won a room in the NICU. (Hence the tubes)


I got to visit him twice on my trip. He is such an adorable boy. He's got Alli's nose but mostly Tony's face. I just wanted to eat him up!




Congrats again Tony and Alli. Sarah and Will can't meet him when we come back next month.

Barbara's Shower

Sarah's friend Laura is going to get a little sister in a couple of weeks and we can't wait to meet her. On Saturday, we celebrated the little one's arrival.

My Other Boys

I've had a request about my Phil&Teds Sport stroller so I thought I would share my love for my stroller. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. It's perfect for moms who are always using their stroller. And I have good news for those looking to buy one now - instead of 6 months ago like me. You can get the Phil&Teds Vibe Stroller with doubles kit from COSTCO.COM for $480 DELIVERED! (To illustrate to you how good a deal this is, I looked it up on Amazon.com and they have it for $760.) I paid $540 for my Phil&Teds Sport stroller with doubles kit from BabyBungalow.com, which was the best deal that I could find at the time. And before your jaw drops too low, I just want to say that I still think it's WORTH EVERY PENNY. I just wish I could have purchased it from Costco because I LOVE their return policy. And now you can get an arguably better Phil&Teds for less.

Here are the pluses:

I love that the seats are on top of each other.



The bassinet is W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L for sleepy babies. William easily falls asleep in it. And when I get home from the park I'll leave him in his stroller sleeping until he wakes up. I also feel less guilty about getting out during his naptime. Even at 6 months old, he can fall asleep while we are out and about.



The second seat, for when your infant gets bigger, also has a zipper recline to help keep your baby asleep. Love it.


If Sarah decides she's "all done stroller" I am not then pushing a lop-sided side-by-side or a super extended Cadillac.



Phil&Teds is lightweight and easy to maneuver. I love the swivel wheel in front. All strollers should have the swivel wheel, it is just so much easier to turn and get inside doors. It has real wheels (although on the small side) that you pump up and can use bike tire tubes for easy replacement. I haven't had to change tubes yet, I just have heard that from my friends who have had their strollers longer.



You do have to take off the doubles seat to fold the Sport Stroller. The Vibe can fold with the doubles seat attached. The Sport folds easily and fits in our trunk. When we went to Disneyland, we had a large rolling duffel along with our stroller and a few other items in the trunk of our Oldsmobile Alero. I haven't traveled with it on an airplane because I don't want it potentially beat up. I save airplane trips for my snap-n-go, which by the way is the only way I travel with an infant because of (1) its large basket, (2) I can keep my baby's car seat with me just in case there is an extra seat for him and (3) I don't care if the $50 frame get's scratched.

I also love that the adjustable push bar is high enough for me. I'm a tall person (5'9) so many strollers just don't cut it. I also don't have an issue running into the stroller with my feet. However, Rog, who is 6', sometimes has trouble with that. It is designed as a jogging stroller, but I'm not a true jogger so I can't vouch for its performance there. I do walk our Phil&Teds up and down hills and it does great.

Adjustments?

I think the biggest adjustment I had to going to the Phil&Teds is the shocks. My Bob Revolution has such great shocks. We took Bob out today for family fun morning at the park. Sarah wanted to walk - I mean run - anyway. (I knew if Sarah didn't want to run anymore Rog would carry her on his shoulders.) I love pushing Bob. He's soooo smooth. Really, if Bob could make a tandem stroller like the Phil&Teds I would be in H.E.A.V.E.N. But, for now, my Phil&Teds is fantastic. I take it everywhere and LOVE it. Truth be told, if I never pushed Bob and had gotten the Phil&Teds single as my first stroller I wouldn't have any complaints.



PS I don't understand the reasoning behind naming strollers after boys, but I have to say they are pretty good strollers :)
