Airplane

Just in case you were wondering how I do it with two kids on the airplane. It's always better when William has his own seat. Truth be told, I was informed it was going to be a full flight - if I'd had known William would have his own seat, I would have brought on his carrier car seat. Early flights on Southwest are the BEST - even if that means getting up at 5:30 am to make it to the airport.

On the way back we had a little different situation. William had a blow-out right before we went through security. I luckily had my sister Alli and my Mom there to help me. (Alli even got a gate pass so she could hold onto Sarah while I made my way through the security process. I have to say it was a BIG help.) We stripped William down to his diaper. I had forgotten to pack an extra onesie. (Of course) I also forgot to take out my portable dvd player so the security guard had to open my backpack. Again, I was thankful Alli was with me. It's just a different monster when you have two kids, a stroller, car seat, bag, shoes, etc. to worry about.

Once "on the other side" we said goodbye to Alli and headed for a gift-shop that would have something to clothe my youngest child in. Much to my dismay they didn't have anything worth buying and I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a basic onesie with the saying "Potty Like a Rock Star Las Vegas" on it for $16. Lesson learned. Expensive lesson, but learned none-the-less.

Oh and for the record, I don't think I'll be traveling by myself for quite a while. William didn't have his own seat on the way back and Sarah is quite fidgety when "all electronics must be turned off" at takeoff and landing.

  1. Oh my, that would be my worst nightmare ... Elliot on my lap and Jane anxious. I don't know how you do it.

  2. Wow! I couldn't even consider doing that on my own yet!

Are you guys going to be around at all the rest of the summer? We'd really like to see you. It's been too long!
