Addendum to Hillary's post about Girl's Camp:
It's true, I had a great time despite the fact that I was only able to attend the last day. Since this was my sixth time to girls camp, it's becoming more difficult to reach 'first' milestones. However, this year I was able to accomplish a 'first' thanks to my little buddy pictured above on the notecard. This year marks the first time I have ever been bitten by a tick. Yes, while driving home from camp I wondered what was causing my irritating bump on my leg. I discovered it while we were unloading the camp gear in the camp shed. Many suggestions were given on how to remove it but Jim McManis and I decided to use his cool tick removing kit. We pulled it out quite easily with this tool that looked like a cross between a toe nail clipper and pliers. You may be wondering why I have such a large scab (picture taken one week later) on my leg if the tick came out easily. It's because after we took the tick out Jim decided to prob a bit further to make sure we didn't leave any tick parts in my leg. Well, after hearing my flesh crunch a couple times I told Jim I had enough of his probing. My leg was sore and tender for a week, not from the tick, but from having my flesh pinched. I kept the little bugger as seen in the photo below. I do need to give Jim props for successfully removing the tick without resulting in Lyme disease.
Can't wait for next year's girls camp!
Those are some hairy legs. Roger are you writing this post and this is your leg. One day at camp for Hillary and her leg hairs grow quick.
