Spontaneous

We decided to make a last-minute trip to Las Vegas and St. George. I must be getting old because spontaneity like this takes quite a bit out of me. I'm still recovering from it! It took 10 hours Saturday (we left at 2:30 pm) to get to Las Vegas. I wasn't feeling well when we left and I think the trip intensified it. But it was nice to get pampered while I was with family.

The main reason for the trip was to say goodbye to our nephew Spencer. He had his farewell on Sunday morning in Las Vegas. He is going to Mexico on a mission for our church. I wasn't feeling well so that's my excuse for not getting out the camera during the lunch festivities. These "old" pics will have to do.

Spencer the Marine with his girlfriend.

Spencer with his dad Randy. Randy served his mission in Switzerland. Hence the costumes.

Spencer with his mom Nancy (Rog's sister).

After the farewell festivities, we headed to St. George to see Grandma and Boppa. While we were there, we decided to throw a February birthday party. Roger (3rd), Tony (6th), Emily & Jeff (12), Sarah (13) and Katie (22). I (with a lot of help) made Pasta Milano for the family. My sister Kymn made this awesome chocolate cake. Notice how cool the candles are - the flames are different colors.

Sarah LOVED singing happy birthday to herself...

Of course there was dressup. Sarah LOVED Katie's house. (Aunt Katie has a toy room that is just amazing.

William was there too. Isn't this a great face?

I got some more Abby time. I could just eat her up!

Ryan played hide and seek in the dryer.

And lots of cousin time. Sarah and William couldn't get enough of these guys.

We were planning to head back to SF on Tuesday morning, but I just couldn't do it. We stayed an extra day to recover from our crazy late-nights and traveling. We ended up leaving St. George at 7 am Mountain time and arriving home in San Francisco just before 6 pm Pacific time. That's 12 hours folks. Well worth it :)

  2. spontaneity is much easier when you don't have to take anyone under the age of 20 with you!
