I went into labor with Sarah 3 years ago on my sister Emily's birthday. Knowing she didn't want to steal Emily's show ... er I mean birthday ... Sarah made her entrance a day later on the 13th. So in honor of NOT stealing her birthday, we had a day just for Emily.
We opened presents ... oh wait, that was Sarah

We had a party ... oh wait, that was for Sarah.

But Emily did get to make some valentines.
And play "Pin Cinderella and Prince Charming on the castle."
She was even kind enough to make this castle masterpiece. Yes, I laminated it. I had to preserve this kind of talent. Isn't it AMAZING?! And all this was done in record time with one poster board, construction paper, stickers and markers.

After cleaning up the party, eating lunch and putting the kids down for a nap, we headed to Mamas for some grown-up girl bonding time. Just so you know they close at 3 p.m. We got there at 2:55 and almost missed our chance!
Emily LOVED her Monte Cristo.
It was sooooooo nice to have some time without the kids. Thanks a million to Roger for letting us have the afternoon off. We had a little bit of time before we needed to head to SFO to pick up our sister Kim and her friends Erin and Jessica. So after dropping off our left-over Monte Cristos to Roger - we each saved him a corner - we decided to make a detour to see the Painted Ladies.
We thought we would be cool and take a picture together with the Painted Ladies in the background.
We did make a second effort ...
After we picked up the girls and had dinner, Emily got all dressed up. Kim did her "sultry eyes" makeup and they headed out for a night on the town.
They saw Wicked and Emily LOVED it! (the other girls did too ...)

Oh and just in case you were wondering, Maddy looks cute in the birthday hat too.
Happy Happy Birthday Emily!!!
Thanks Hill! We had so much fun!
