Mom?

Why do I feel so old when my two-year-old calls me Mom instead of Mommy? Who gave her permission to make the switch? I'm sad to say she is referring to me more as Mom than Mommy these days ... I guess hanging out for a week with "older" kids who call their Mommy "Mom" will do it. Will William call me Mom instead of Mommy when he starts talking? I hope not. I love being Mommy.

  1. Just wait until she tries to call you Ma. It's fun and when my kid tried it I wouldn't allow it!

  3. When the pre school teacher asked Cassie what her moms full name was she said Heather Osness. Then she asked her what her dads dull name was and she said Daddy Osness. We thought that was pretty funny.

  4. I remember the first time my kids said Mom instead of Mommy. It literally stopped me in my tracks. :( Also, I called my mom Ma to bother my sister strangely enough. Then it stuck, so I don't think I would care if my kids did that.

  6. Sam calls me Mommy still and Charly calls me Mama. That makes me feel like 1800's old.

  7. It will be interesting to see what Maddy calls me as she gets older--especially since Nate has a million nicknames for me, but rarely uses my real name.
