Good Mama

I made Pasta Milano for dinner tonight. Here was the response I got:

Roger: Thanks for the beautiful dinner.

Sarah: Mommy, thanks for the dinner. (sweetest voice ever)

William: (applauds wildly.)

We just might have Pasta Milano every week!

31 is a prime number

I just have to say I feel so loved today! Roger, Sarah and William made my birthday the best day ever. I'm so lucky.

I started my day with a Happy Birthday walk with Lisa. The rain was a little more considerate this time. (We finished our walk last week in a downpour. I was completely soaked by the time we got home!)

We dropped Rog off to help a friend move while Will, Sarah and I headed to tot time at the rec center.

Rog built me a fort in the afternoon for my nap with the kids ... well at least I napped.

We played peek-a-boo.

Cyndi came over after work and we had birthday cake. Rog made a masterpiece.

I put on the birthday hat.

Sarah had to have a turn too. (While Rog was making the cake, Sarah insisted it was her birthday too.)

We also opened presents. Rog got me this bluetooth because I washed and dried my last one. Apparently, it didn't like being cleaned.

Cyndi gave me the best present - she watched our two little munchkins so Rog and I could go to dinner and a movie. They had a great time. And Cyndi was super, super sweet and cleaned up the fort too.

We ended up going to How to Train your Dragon - such a popular movie that Rog felt he needed to rent out the entire theater so I could have a better movie experience. We literally were the only two in the theater. How romantic. (We saw it in 2D so that's probably why no one else was there ...) I had a wonderful evening. Thanks again Cyndi!

And thanks to all the dozens of Happy Birthday shouts on Facebook, my blog, my email and my cell phone. Everywhere I looked I had another birthday message. It was so fun! I think Alli wins for the most birthday wishes. She texted, wrote on my "wall" and Instant Messaged me. All in all a great day.

Dance take 2

Dance class was super fun this week. The girls brought a doll to dance with and we had all 10 girls come. I couldn't be happier with the experience this is for Sarah. It's so much fun!

Here comes the bride!

We went bridal gown shopping with Cyndi. Sarah was so excited about the accessories. She loved this embellished headband and flowers. But when it comes down to it I think Sarah's going to wait a few years before walking down the aisle ...

Sing! Sing! Sing!

Guess who is the new Nursery Song Leader for my ward. If you guessed me you are right! Could there be a better calling? I don't think so. I'm so excited to serve in the primary. It's my first time.

Exploratorium

We met up with Stephanie, Kenzie and Jordyn at the Palace of Fine Arts to feed the birds today. We didn't have a lot of time so we were only planning to enjoy the sunshine and feed the birds, but our girls had a different idea. Both Kenzie and Sarah needed to use the restroom so inside the Exploratorium we went. Stephanie has a pass and it was so fun to watch the girls explore. Since we were short on time Jordyn and William stayed in the stroller - just aching to get out. We had so much fun together. I'm so excited to get a pass and go back. Love it.

Tiny Dancers

Sarah LOVES Angelina Ballerina, dress-up and dancing. So with a little encouragement from my sister Heidi I talked to a few of my friends to see if there would be any interest in a dance class. Now, I have had one dance class in my life (which is one more than my sister Emily - she's not bitter and has never brought that up to my Mom ... but I digress.) so my qualifications for teaching said dance class were ... um ... should we say ... zero. Luckily, I have friends who do have dancing skills. Emily and Jenny came to the rescue and walah we had our first dance class today with 7 little girls in 7 little tutus. Sarah was in HEAVEN and I loved watching her interact with the girls.

Things we learned today:
* The gym was a little to big and too loud. We will go to a smaller room next week.
* I was amazed at how well the girls followed Jenny and Emily. They really are trying to do the basic steps.
* Having a ballet book during the lesson was perfect. Loved it.
* Each girl has her own technique and for the most part are eager to try new things.
* Dressing like a ballerina helps you dance like a ballerina.
* Could Sarah be any happier? I think not.

I can't wait until next week!

Tot Time

When we started tot time last Fall it was all about Sarah and her friends. Now that William is 17 months, he is quite the participant. He LOVES playing each week in the big gym. This week he even tried the "races." Oh how I love how he runs :)

Sarah's 3-year-old Stats

It's a long story about why Sarah just went in for her 3-year-old appointment - out of town, COBRA, switching doctors, not getting records in time - but it's done. Checked off. OK.

Sarah was such a good patient, the doctor wants to see her again in 10 days. Oh wait, that's because she had a double ear infection. Did I know this? Nope. She never complained about her ears hurting except at bedtime - when all the usual excuses come out. I need water. I want milk. I need my blanket "backsides" (flipped over). I need a story. Sing another song ... Anyway, we'll just say she's doesn't complain specifically because of an owie. She does tend to whine a little more, but I don't realize it until after the fact. She's 3. Whining is part of the job description. I guess the only real clue I had was that she was waking up in the middle of the night crying and wanting to be in my room. Sarah's usually a great sleeper so I didn't know what was up. Anyway, she loves the pink medicine and is very good about reminding me to give it to her. Hopefully, everything will be A-OK next week when we go back to see the doctor.

And now for the important numbers. Her stats:

Height: 37 inches 50%
Weight: 31 lbs. 50%

Yep. She's average for size. However, personality is another thing entirely.

Sarah is quite the independent, happy, mischievous, I-want-to-do-it, fort-building, fast-running, hyper dancing, seriously following, giggling 3-year-old drama queen. We sure love her and are so glad she's part of our family :)

Little Man is 17 Months

Did another month just zoom by? I guess it's time to post another month of William.

* Will has another tooth poking up on the bottom - making 11 teeth in his mouth.

* William runs super fast now. One of his favorite past times is to run though the open doors in our apartment over and over and over. He also loves to kick balls, roll cans, push cars, build blocks, and play peek-a-boo with my curtains and his hands. He likes to practice "walking" stairs. He loves to throw stuff. I often find blocks and other toys in my bathtub. At least it's not in the toilet - yet.

* He doesn't like to be left out of anything. He is DYING to go to nursery. When I dropped Sarah off last week he gave his siren scream as I walked away with him from the room full of toys.

* He LOVES chocolate - especially M&Ms and chocolate chip cookies. He LOVES Daddy's juice, which keeps him nice and regular. (We call him our little stinker)

* Will loves to play tackle-mommy-while-mommy-attempts-to-do-sit-ups. It's a funny game.

* Sarah can get Will to laugh better than anyone. I have a feeling that William will be the kid that always encourages the class clown. He's so easily entertained - especially by silly stuff.

* I love that he LOVES doing anything with Sarah. He watches her every move and wants to be big and do what she's doing. He definitely loves his big sister.

Little Puffer

We had a fun time at the zoo with Addi and her boys. We saw some animals ...

And then they introduced us to the Little Puffer train.

It was craziness at the zoo this time because of Spring Break. We had a hard time keeping track of our 5 little ones at the train station. But with a little help everyone was accounted for and no one was really left behind.

And just for random - this is the bus stop we parked by. These kids really wanted to go on the bus!

A visit from the Bunny

We love it when the Bunny comes to our house! He leaves us lots of eggs ...

... filled with goodies.

And this year he brought us more Blocks, Balls and Kitchen Accessories!

Come again next year little bunny.
